Puddleducks Pre-school is a registered charity and is run by a voluntary committee of parents and carers. Without a committee in place, Puddleducks cannot operate.
The committee are responsible for the management side of the pre-school. It is not responsible for the day-to-day operations: that responsibility lies with the pre-school manager and the staff team.
The committee is made up of a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. Puddleducks also employs a pre-school administrator who is responsible for a lot of the paperwork that a committee would normally be expected to do. The pre-school uses the services of a local independent accountant for the monthly payroll and accounts.
Parents/carers with a vested interest in Puddleducks Pre-school can become a member of the committee. There are lots of ways parents/carers can contribute to the committee and they can choose to give as much or as little time as they can spare. Experience not needed to make a difference.
Being part of a pre-school committee is all about opportunities for the pre-school, but also for parents/carers and from small beginnings, they could find themselves taking a new direction in life.
