Early Years Education Funding and Eligibility

 

2 year old funding for disadvantaged families (15 hours over 38 weeks)

This funding is for families of children who receive some additional forms of financial support or meet other criteria and can be accessed the first full school term after a child's second birthday. Parents apply themselves via Nottinghamshire County Council website and can apply from when the child is 1 year and 9 months old.

 

2 year old funding for working families (15 hours over 38 weeks)

Available from April 2024 for eligible working families where a parent, and any partner earns under £100k each and at least £167 each per week. It is parents responsibility to check eligibility and apply for an eligibility code. See Childcare Choices website for further information and how to apply. Funding will be increased from 15 hours per week to 30 hours per week from September 2025 (over 38 weeks).

 

3 & 4 year old funding universal offer (15 hours over 38 weeks)

Universal funding is available to all 3 & 4 year old children and parents do not need to apply for this funding. 

 

3 & 4 year old funding universal offer plus an additional 15 hours (30 hours over 38 weeks)

30 Hour funding is available for eligible working families where a parent, and any partner earns under £100k each and at least £167 each per week. It is parents responsibility to check eligibility and apply for an eligibility code. See Childcare Choices website for further information and how to apply.

1st January to 31st March                              Term starting on or after 1st April (Summer)
